Viva Films will be showing the remake of the late 80’s and early 90’s film that made the name Roderick Paulate owns the title Petrang Kabayo during his reign in showbiz. The film Petrang Kabayo is based fro Pablo Gomez’s comic book with the same title and give Vice Ganda his leading role for the very first time under Viva Films. The comedy-sci-fi movie is directed by Wenn V. Deramas and will be showing in all cinemas nationwide beginning October 13, international screening in selected countries will follow soon.
Petrang Kabayo follows the story of Petra (Vice Ganda) formerly known as Peter who escaped from the cruelty of his father after discovering he is a gay when he was a child (played by Makisig Morales). He was adopted by Suzanna (Eugene Domingo) a rich woman and an owner of a ranch. Because of wealth Petra became boastful and became rude to all those who work in his farm the one were given to him by Suzanna before she died. He was cursed by Diobayo (Eagle Riggs), the guardian of the Horses, and every time he became rude to others he will be transformed to a horse and the curse will be stripped of away from him if only he change his life.
Opposite from the original, there are some part of the story that was change to fit in the modern days and some characters where change like Diobayo, where in the original it was Silveria played by the late veteran actress Sorayda Sanchez. Rumor says that Roderick Paulate will be doing the Silveria role for the 2010 remake of Petrang Kabayo, but the actor declines the offer where he has prior engagement where he will be doing a movie with Maricel Soriano where the shoot will take place in Italy.
Also starring are Sam Pinto, Candy Pangilinan, DJ Durano, John Arcilla, Ricky Rivero, Joy Vidao, Ms. Gloria Diaz, Tom Rodriguez and Luis Manzano. Petrang Kabayo will be showing in all cinemas beginning October 13, 2010.
