After weeks of speculations, ABS-CBN officially announced as the new Darna in TV Patrol. MJ Felipe interviewed Liza in the primetime news and officially congratulated her for the title.
Before Liza’s announcement, she was mentioned in the column of Ricky Lo in his FunFare column in Philippine Star. In Ricky’s article, he mentioned that a certain source mentioned to him that Liza will be doing the coveted role that was once played by Vilma Santos, Angel Locsin and Marian Rivera.
Meanwhile, Fashion Pulis releases an article reporting that Anne Curtis will be playing the fashionable Valentina. Aside from that he mentioned Maricel Soriano and Iza Calzado without confirmation of what their role will be.
Before Liza’s confirmation, names like Kathryn Bernardo, Nadine Lustre, Pia Wurtzbach, Maja Salvador, Sarah Geronimo, Kim Chiu and other Kapamilya actresses where included in the list. With Liza being Darna, everyone will surely question the positioning of Enrique Gil in her new endeavor being they are love team since the series Forevermore. We are surely looking forward on his role in Darna.
