Gidget and Maricel are moving to Tawag ng Tanghalan Grand Finals

After the week-long showdown of Tawag ng Tanghalan Semi-Finalists from March 28 to April 2, moving to the Grand Finals are “Mama Sessionista ng Pagadian” Maricel Callo and Sweet Songstress ng Laguna” Mary Gidget Dela Llana. The other three contenders that failed to move to the next round are “Ulirang Tatay ng Davao” Dominador Alviola Jr., Sales Diva ng Makati” Rachel Gabreza and “Dad Incredi-voice ng Navotas” Jaime Navarro. Maricel garnered 93.45% while Gidget with 86.53%

From Monday until Saturday they are given different kind of songs based on the day’s theme from the audition song, song from their idols, song for the family, song for their greatest love, song given by the judges and song that reflects their life.

In the last round of the week-long semi-finals of Tawag ng Tanghalan Gidget performed When You Believe of Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston. Followed by Maricel performing Survivor’s Ever Since The World Began and next is Daddy D with Tom Jones’ I (Who Have Nothing). Forth performer is Jame with Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing and lastly Rachel sings R. Kelly’s I Believe I Can Fly.

Earlier this week  Gidget performed Regine Velasquez’ Araw-Gabi, Diana Rose’s Home, Idina Menzel’s Let It Go, Regine Velasquez’ You Are My Song and Wency Cornejo’s Hanggang.

Meanwhile Maricel performed Whitney Houston’s One Moment In Time, Simon And Garfunkel’s Bridge Over Troubled Water, Regine Velasquez’ Sana Maulit Muli, Barbra Streisand’s Somewhere and Barbra Streisand’s People.

Voting for the 1st semi-finals is 50% judges and 50% text votes. Tawag ng Tanghalan airs within It’s Showtime.
