After the controversial lip-sync tweet of Rhap Salazar that gained mixed reactions from netizens and celebrities like Gary Valenciano, Vice Ganda, Lea Salonga and Guji Lorenzana, the King of Philippine Talkshow Boy Abunda gave his opinion regarding this matter. In his evening talkshow with Kris Aquino entitled Aquni & Abunda Tonight, he said that he respects Rhap’s opinion but he further elaborated that even best artists and brilliant singers have to do lip sync in some of their performances due to technical reasons. Boy explained that it can be because of the microphone, the venue or health reason.

Boy also mentioned he was not sure what does “hate” means in his tweet. He said that he don’t know if it means disgust or a witty way of hating. Boy said that if he have the freedom to hate lip sync singers, he have the freedom not to watch them, switch off because no one is forcing him to watch.

Abunda said that the thing that he can’t stand are performers that who do lip sync while using other people’s voices. Boy addresses Rhap as a manager telling him that instead of hating watch them and review his brand essence on what did they do and what he didn’t. “Because with your enormous talent Rhap, I am sure you have a place under the sun. That’s how you make something negative positive.” Boy ended.
