This is not my story and this will not be my endless roll call of thank you which I usually do on Christmas Day. Instead this Christmas Day blog post is more on sharing my hopes and prayers to my fellow Filipinos who survived all the challenges we encountered on 2013 as a nation. From the calamities of typhoon and earthquake to the political crisis in Mindanao and different accidents that made us one as a Filipino people.
I hope that each one of us gain strength from each other, our Christmas may not be as happy and festive as before. But I hope we may remember the true meaning of Christmas which each is beyond what’s on our table, on clothes we wear and gifts we share. Because Christmas should remind us on the greatest gift that we receive and keep on receiving everyday and that is the gift of life. For those who survived the calamities and crisis may our second chance in life maybe a new beginning for us to stand and be strong to rebuild ourselves and for fellow Filipinos to reach out and help heal the wounds of our nation.
We already showed our bayanihan to the world and countries admired us for that. That’s why they extended their hands to us for us to begin a new life. I am praying that just like the star that guide the wise men, may our faith in God and the confidence that we can do it be that light for us to make the rebuilding of our nation faster. I salute every Filipinos and those from other countries who became part of this wonderful story of hope that we will forever cherish as a great story of Christmas that’s beyond any parties and feast. Again Merry Christmas and wishing everyone a life filled with blessings along with their families.
