On December 21 few days before Christmas, Maalaala Mo Kaya offers a heartwarming family story featuring the most talented actors of their generation Gerald Anderson and Bugoy Cariño. Directed by Nuel Naval, the MMK Christmas offering will tackle on the ailment called Thalassemia and how will the characters in the story will join together to overcome this challenge in their lives.
Thalassemia is a blood disorder that leads to the weakening and destruction of red blood cells. It is caused by variant or missing genes that affect how the body makes hemoglobin. In the story JV (Cariño) was diagnosed with Thalassemia. He is the nephew of Edwin (Anderson) who doesn’t like him when he is young and with the revelation of his sickness how will it affect their relationship and later how will it made their family’s bond become stronger?
