Everyone knows about the character of Sleeping Beauty or simple known as Princess Aurora in the 1959 Walt Disney animated musical fantasy film produced by Walt Disney and based on La Belle au bois dormant by Charles Perrault. But only few knows about the villain with two horned headdress and black and violet cape named Maleficent that cursed Aurora in the story. Now, Walt Disney gives new approach to the story of Maleficent which will be played by the award winning actress Angelina Jolie.
Directed by Robert Stromberg, Maleficent will have a back story telling the journey of the character from being a pure hearted young woman just like Aurora who lives in peaceable forest kingdom. Until that peace was destroyed by invading army that threatens that harmony and she became the protector but in the end she suffers betrayal that led to the transformation of her pure heart to stone. And in revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora.

Maleficent also stars Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Brenton Thwaites, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton. The film will be showing in cinemas on May 30, 2014 distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International through Columbia Pictures.
