National Geographic Channel brings you “Inside Malacañang” on March 18!

Malacanang Palace – known as the official residence and principal workplace of the Philippine President and it was built in1750 in Spanish Colonial style. Originally it was a  summer house by Spanish aristocrat named Don Luis Rocha and later sold to Colonel Jose Miguel Formente until it was purchased by the state in 1825. From there it became the home of the eighteen Spanish Governors-General and fourteen American Civil Governors. It was President Manuel L. Quezon in 1935 who became the first Filipino President reside in Malacañang this is during the Philippine Commonwealth. While President Emilio Aguildo during his term lived at his house in Cavite and took office at Barasoain Church. Now Malacanang Palace is the residence of the current president, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III.

On March 18 at 9PM, National Geographic Channel opens the door of the Malacañang Palace to its viewers as it gives everyone to an exclusive guided tour inside the official residence of the country’s chief executive. In the “Inside Malacañang” documentary gives NatGeo Channel viewers the opportunity to see some of the chambers of the palace were previously off-limits to the media and the public. It also examines and breaks long-held myths and beliefs about the President’s entourage including the routine of the Philippine Security. The production of the documentary took a year and a half to finish and the team includes director, producer and head writer Marnie Manicad, writer Cris Lim and narrator Joonee Gamboa.
