Rising band It All Started In May has just released their newest single, “Naaalala,” a nostalgic track that looks back on a love that slipped away. With gut-punch lines like “Bakit ganyan? Biglang nawala, dahil sumama ka na sa iba,” the song captures the sting of remembering someone who has moved on, making it the perfect “relapse” anthem for anyone who has ever revisited old feelings.
The band, composed of Red (guitarist, lead vocalist), Pau (guitarist, vocalist), Jai (keyboardist), Mikee (drummer), and JP (bassist, vocalist), signed with Universal Records in February 2025 and has been on a steady rise ever since, lining up releases, guestings, and live performances that continue to grow their fanbase.

“Naaalala” also connects to the band’s reflective “naaalala” posts online, where they revisit key moments in their personal and musical journeys. Bassist JP recalled: “Naaalala ko pa yung mga araw na mas madalas kwarto ko lang nakakarinig ng mga tinutugtog ko,” a reminder of humble beginnings. Meanwhile, drummer Mikee shared: “Minsan naaalala ko yung mga sinabi kong last na ito pero ayun, may part two, three, at four,” capturing the group’s persistent and ever-evolving path.
With four singles now released, including “O’ Kay Tamis,” “Pasado,” their cover of Hotdog’s “Manila,” and the newly dropped “Naaalala,” It All Started In May ends the year on a high note, carrying that familiar sentiment of “malayo pa, pero malayo na.”

On November 22, the band officially signed as the newest brand ambassadors of LYRIC, the country’s largest musical instrument retail chain. That same day, they launched the music video for “Naaalala” at Kowloon House Dining Hall on Matalino St., Quezon City. The event was filled with energy, featuring standout sets from SunKissed Lola, Earl Generao, SHANNi, brei, and It All Started In May, who delivered a memorable performance.
It All Started In May is clearly only beginning their journey, and the momentum is building quickly. With more music and milestones ahead, 2026 is shaping up to be a promising year for this fast-rising band.
