Balin Remejus Inc. and Great Media Productions Inc. proudly announce the nationwide theatrical release of Nasaan Si Hesus?, an inspiring new movie musical exploring faith, community, and the search for meaning amid life’s deepest struggles. The film opens in SM Cinemas on December 3, 2025.
The musical “Nasaan si Hesus?” was first staged 20 years ago under the helm of Nestor Torre, with music and lyrics by Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel. After two decades, this well-loved stage production has been reimagined for today’s audiences and is now a major motion picture.
Set in the humble village of Sto. Niño, Nasaan Si Hesus? follows the intertwining lives of its residents as they grapple with questions about God, morality, and redemption. Beneath the surface of everyday life, each character confronts personal battles that test their beliefs and challenge their understanding of what is good, just, and true.
Roger, his wife Brenda, and their daughter Cindy appear to be the perfect family until sin and its consequences threaten to tear their home apart. Fr. Carlo, the village parish priest, struggles with anger and temptation, forcing him to confront his own spiritual weaknesses. Sister Remedios dedicates her life to helping a group of street children, while the young Sister Alma must find her courage and calling. Meanwhile, single mother Lucy descends into drugs out of desperation, and the community faces further hardship under exploitative figures such as Mrs. Varona and Congressman Caramba. In the end, each one seeks a path toward healing and hope.
The film features a powerhouse ensemble led by Janno Gibbs, Rachel Alejandro, Geneva Cruz, and Jeffrey Hidalgo, along with standout performances by Marissa Sanchez, Salome Salvi, Via Antonio, Chloe Jenna, and Cecil Paz. It also introduces Rachel Gabreza and child performer Giani Sarita, with special participation from celebrated actors Bembol Roco and Jerald Napoles.
Directed and written for the screen by multi-awarded filmmaker Dennis N. Marasigan, the film is adapted from the long-running musical play written by Mrs. Lourdes “Bing” Pimentel and Nestor U. Torre. The movie features original songs by Mrs. Pimentel, including the moving theme song “Nasaan Si Hesus?”
Behind the camera, the production is strengthened by the talents of Dustin Uy (cinematography), Jolevs Domingo (film editing), Jedd Dumaguina (sound recording), TJ Ramos (musical score), and King Arthur Maningas (production design).
“Nasaan Si Hesus? is about finding solutions to the problems we face,” shares Mrs. Pimentel. “But it is also about our desire to find God in our daily lives.”
