“Play the game or the game plays you.” The wait is over as Paramount Pictures has released the official poster and thrilling new trailer for The Running Man, the highly anticipated action thriller directed by Edgar Wright (Baby Driver, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Shaun of the Dead) and starring Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick, Twisters). The film opens in Philippine cinemas on November 12.
Based on Stephen King’s classic dystopian novel, The Running Man transports audiences to a near-future society obsessed with spectacle and survival. The story follows Ben Richards (Powell), a working-class man desperate to save his sick daughter. Out of options, he agrees to join The Running Man, the world’s most popular reality show, where contestants known as Runners must survive 30 days while being hunted by professional assassins. Every move is broadcast to a bloodthirsty public, and each day brings a higher cash prize if they live long enough to claim it.

Richards’ determination and defiance turn him into an unexpected fan favorite and a symbol of rebellion. As ratings climb, so does the danger, forcing him to outsmart not only the show’s lethal Hunters but also a nation addicted to watching him fall.
Josh Brolin (Dune, Avengers: Endgame) co-stars as the show’s charming yet ruthless producer Dan Killian, whose thirst for ratings fuels the deadly spectacle. The ensemble cast includes William H. Macy, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, Emilia Jones, Daniel Ezra, Jayme Lawson, Sean Hayes, Katy O’Brian, Colman Domingo, and Josh Brolin.
With a screenplay by Michael Bacall (21 Jump Street) and Edgar Wright, the film blends high-octane action with sharp social commentary and dark humor. Produced by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment, Kinberg Genre, and Complete Fiction, The Running Man promises an intense cinematic experience that questions how far society will go for entertainment.
The Running Man, directed by Edgar Wright and starring Glen Powell, opens in Philippine cinemas on November 12, 2025.
