Dubai Airports, operator of the world’s busiest international airport, has successfully installed more than 520 Hearing Loops across Dubai International (DXB), marking the largest deployment of its kind worldwide. This milestone underscores DXB’s commitment to becoming the most accessible and inclusive airport, enabling smoother travel for guests with hearing loss, including those using hearing aids and cochlear implants.
The Hearing Loops are now available at key touchpoints throughout DXB, including check-in counters, immigration desks, boarding gates, and information desks across all three terminals. The system allows users to connect instantly by switching their device to the “T” (telecoil) setting with no pairing or additional equipment required.

The successful installation of more than 520 Hearing Loops across DXB is a testament to the collaborative spirit of our oneDXB airport community, whose unified effort is turning our shared vision of a more seamless and accessible travel experience into reality,” Majed Al Joker, Chief Operating Officer at Dubai Airports said.
The rollout was made possible through close collaboration with Dubai Airports’ oneDXB partners, including Emirates, flydubai, Dubai Police, the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai Customs, dnata, Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, Dubai Taxi Company, and Dubai Duty Free.
Aligned with Dubai’s Universal Design Code, which ensures inclusive access to public spaces and transport infrastructure, the installation was completed with minimal disruption to airport operations. Frontline employees also received dedicated training to better assist guests of determination.
With more than 1.5 billion people worldwide experiencing some degree of hearing loss, a number projected to rise to 2.5 billion by 2050 according to the World Health Organization, initiatives like this are becoming essential in major transport hubs.
The project is part of Dubai Airports’ long-term accessibility strategy, which combines infrastructure enhancements with employee training to deliver practical, guest-focused solutions. The goal is to ensure that every traveller feels welcome, supported, and understood at every step of their journey, from curb to gate.
