CNN is set to launch Seasons, a new multiplatform series premiering September 6 on CNN International that explores the shifting trends shaping global culture across fashion, food, travel, technology, design and art.
Focusing on the world’s most desired products, experiences and ideas, Seasons goes behind the brands to uncover the people, craftsmanship, innovation and strategy driving today’s most sought-after items and cultural moments. The debut episode spotlights Japan’s enduring influence on the world, from the surreal imagination of pop art icon Takashi Murakami to the timeless beauty of textile artisans and the unique blend of tradition and modernity that continues to inspire global fashion, art and design.
Hosted by Japanese model and creative director Hikari Mori, the premiere episode takes viewers inside Murakami’s Tokyo studio for an exclusive look at his preparations for a Seoul exhibition, explores referral-only restaurants and ancient tea rituals, and examines how Japan’s aesthetic continues to set the tone for what is next worldwide.
Seasons will offer audiences sharp explainers, cinematic vertical videos and digital-first experiences alongside a quarterly 30-minute broadcast. The second episode will air in December, shifting the focus to Europe and the UK with a new host and fresh stories from the global culture scene.
Ellana Lee, Group Senior Vice President, GM APAC, and Global Head of Productions at CNN, says: “From exclusive collaborations and underground movements to immersive experiences and viral editions, Seasons captures what is resonating right now. This is not just about luxury, it is about evolving tastes, rarity, relevance and the stories behind them.”
