Award-winning journalist Pia Arcangel has reaffirmed her commitment to GMA Integrated News after renewing her contract with the Network on August 29. The signing underscores GMA’s trust in her excellence and dedication to delivering truthful, reliable news.
Present at the event were GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto R. Duavit, Jr.; Senior Vice President and Head of GMA Integrated News, Regional TV, and Synergy Oliver Victor B. Amoroso; and Vice President and Deputy Head for News Programs and Specials Michelle Seva.
A Kapuso since 2002, Pia has spent more than two decades in broadcast journalism, producing documentaries, covering politics, crime, sports, and breaking news, and anchoring top programs. She currently leads Saksi and 24 Oras Weekend with Ivan Mayrina, appears in major specials like the State of the Nation Address, and hosts the podcast Power Talks with Pia Arcangel, where she interviews influential figures.

Her work has earned numerous awards, including Best Female Anchor from Gawad Tanglaw and the Platinum Stallion Awards. She has twice been shortlisted for Presenter of the Year at the Association for International Broadcasting Awards (AIBs), joining top broadcasters from ABC, CNA, and Al Jazeera English.
Pia expressed gratitude: “To my GMA bosses, peers, and our dearest Kapuso – my sincerest gratitude for the trust and confidence you have extended my way all these years. GMA Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon praised Pia’s value to the Network, calling her one of GMA’s most trusted personalities in both TV and podcasting. Duavit highlighted her versatility, noting that Pia is relied on for special coverages from elections to international events. Amoroso added that Pia stands out as a true multi-platform journalist who transitions seamlessly between television and digital.
Looking ahead, Pia said: “As I continue to anchor Saksi and 24 Oras Weekend, I am guided by the same passion that brought me to GMA more than 20 years ago. I look forward to pursuing relevant stories and to growing our presence in the digital space, especially with the newest season of Power Talks launching soon.”
Also present at the contract signing were GMA executives Jojo Aquio, Maria Teresa Bernabe, Mimi Yapchiongco, Kate dela Cruz-Robledo, and Don Dave Ventura.
