Two of the most dynamic forces in Philippine entertainment have officially joined hands as GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions unveiled their first co-production, the highly anticipated horror feature “Huwag Kang Titingin.” The contract signing took place on August 28 at the GMA Network Center, signaling a powerful collaboration between mainstream legacy and fresh innovation.
On behalf of GMA Pictures, the deal was formalized by Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President and CEO of GMA Films; and Nessa Valdellon, Executive Vice President of GMA Pictures and Senior Vice President of GMA Public Affairs. Signing for Mentorque Productions was John Bryan Diamante, President and CEO.
This co-production represents more than just another horror release. It marks a turning point for Philippine cinema, where established institutions and ambitious newcomers collaborate to push storytelling boundaries.

“This partnership with GMA Pictures is not only about producing a film, it’s about showing what’s possible when two creative forces come together,” said Diamante. “As a young production company, we are grateful to GMA Pictures for opening its doors to newcomers like us. It proves that when industry leaders welcome new players, it strengthens the ecosystem of Philippine cinema.”
For GMA Pictures, the venture highlights its openness to fresh voices and daring narratives. “I’m very, very excited for this project. We have a great story, an exciting cast, and a strong partner in Mentorque,” said Atty. Gozon-Valdes. “This is our first venture together, beginning with ‘Huwag Kang Titingin.’ Thank you very much for the trust.”
Directed by Frasco Mortiz and written/creatively produced by Ays De Guzman, Huwag Kang Titingin promises a uniquely Filipino horror experience. Its narrative blends modern Gen Z internet culture with folkloric fears, a chilling collision between viral challenges and ancestral terrors.
The cast features a mix of rising stars and veterans: Sofia Pablo, Allen Ansay, Marco Masa, Michael Sager, Sean Lucas, Kira Balinger, Josh Ford, Anthony Constantino, Charlie Fleming, Shuvee Etrata, and Sherilyn Reyes.
Both GMA Pictures and Mentorque Productions enter this partnership on the heels of major industry recognition. GMA Pictures was recently named “Producer of the Year” at the 8th EDDYS Awards, celebrated for works like Firefly, Balota, P77, and the Oscar-shortlisted Green Bones. Mentorque Productions, meanwhile, was honored as “Film Producer of the Year” at the 2025 FAMAS Awards, with acclaimed titles including the MMFF hit Mallari, the Netflix-acquired Uninvited, and the Cinemalaya entry Kono Basho.
The film is set to premiere in Philippine cinemas soon.
