As part of its 75th anniversary celebration, GMA Network has launched “Be Juan Tama”, an advocacy campaign encouraging viewers to choose programs that nurture mental, emotional, and social growth.

The campaign was officially introduced during a partnership launch and MOA signing held on August 26 at the GMA Network Center in Quezon City.

Leading the initiative are three of GMA’s flagship infotainment and talk shows: Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, i-Bilib, and Amazing Earth. Their hosts, Asia’s King of Talk Boy Abunda, Chris Tiu, and Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes, serve as advocates for learning, meaningful conversations, and discovery.

GMA Network is joined in this endeavor by Anak TV Foundation, the National Council for Children’s Television, World Wide Fund for Nature Philippines (WWF-PH), the Office of Civil Defense, Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), and Philippine Women’s University.

Representing GMA Network at the signing were Cheryl Ching-Sy, Officer-in-Charge for Entertainment Group and VP for Drama; Janine Piad-Nacar, VP for Business Development Division 2; and Enri Calaycay, AVP for Business Development Division 2, together with Boy Abunda, Chris Tiu, and Dingdong Dantes.

Their partner representatives included Anak TV President Elvira Y. Go; NCCT OIC Maria Jowelyne A. Abendan; OCD Civil Defense Administrator Usec. Harold Cabreros; PEP Editor-in-Chief Jo-Ann Q. Maglipon; PWU Campus Life Director Marielle Benitez Javellana; and WWF-PH Executive Director Katherine Custodio.

Ching-Sy described Be Juan Tama as more than just a campaign, but a movement. “Learning through entertainment is one of the most powerful ways to instill values, inspire knowledge, and impart life lessons that uplift lives,” she said.

Reframing the traditional image of Juan Tamad, the campaign promotes Juan Tama, a Filipino who always chooses what is right. By highlighting the role of educational and inspirational content, Be Juan Tama underscores the importance of fun yet meaningful learning experiences.

One of its key initiatives is the GMA Masterclass: Be Juan Tama Conversation Series, to be held in universities nationwide in partnership with GMA Regional TV and Synergy, with Abunda, Tiu, and Dantes as featured speakers.
