ABS-CBN’s newest P-pop boy group, WRIVE, has officially launched with the release of their debut double-single, “Ooh La La” and “Señorita.” The five-member group is now poised to chase their dreams as rising stars in the Filipino music scene.
Formed through the 2022 idol survival show Dream Maker, WRIVE is composed of Asi, Drei, Ishiro, Mathew, and Russu. The group is managed by Polaris-Star Magic, under ABS-CBN’s talent management arm, and signed with Star Music, the network’s flagship record label. Pronounced as rayv, WRIVE’s name stems from the phrase “we have arrived,” symbolizing the unity and shared ambition of its members.
Their debut track “Ooh La La” is a vibrant pop-funk song about a romantic escape from reality with someone special. It was produced by Jonathan Manalo, ABS-CBN Music’s Head of Content, Creatives, and Operations, and written by ALAS and Jeremy G. In contrast, “Señorita” brings in Latin-inspired pop-R&B vibes, exploring the theme of pursuing someone you love. The song was composed by group member Russu and produced by ALAS.
The music video for “Ooh La La” ipremiered last Thursday, July 17 at the ABS-CBN Star Music YouTube channel. Both tracks will be part of WRIVE’s debut album, expected to be released later this year.
