After more than three years of anticipation, Thailand’s breakout acting duo, Mile Phakphum and Apo Nattawin, are finally reuniting on screen. Known for their electrifying chemistry in KinnPorsche The Series, the two return in Shine, a sweeping BL romance drama set to premiere on August 2, 2025. Their long-awaited second pairing was officially introduced during a high-profile press event at centralwOrld LIVE in Bangkok, where the full cast was revealed following a year of secrecy. Until now, only Mile and Apo had been confirmed, making the unveiling a major moment for fans and global media alike. The event also featured a globally livestreamed press conference that generated massive buzz across international fan communities.
Shine promises to be an emotionally rich, visually stunning series that unfolds across three pivotal decades in Thai history—from the 1950s to the 1970s. Blending culture, politics, art, and identity, the show tells a deeply moving story of love and resilience through time. It is helmed by Pond Krisda, the creative visionary behind KinnPorsche, who serves as executive producer, director, and scriptwriter. He is joined by a powerhouse team of Thailand’s top creatives, including director and acting coach Ning Bhanbhassa, scriptwriter Bua Parida, and co-director and art director Jean Khamkwan. Together, they bring a bold, elevated approach to the BL genre, setting Shine apart as a high-concept drama with strong cinematic flair.
Joining Mile and Apo is a star-studded cast that brings additional depth and broad appeal. The ensemble includes Son Yuke, Euro Yotsawat, Oab Oabnithi, Nok Sinjai, Kob Pimolrat, Punpun Sutatta, Tiew Disaya, Peter Deriy, JJay Patiphan, Bump Pawat, and more surprise names yet to be revealed. The casting alone signals that Shine is not just a vehicle for its leads but a fully realized, character-driven drama with a wide emotional scope.

Music plays a vital role in setting the tone for Shine. The series features an original soundtrack by Thai rock legends Slot Machine, who wrote exclusive tracks blending the emotional weight of the narrative with a modern edge. Frontman Foet described the project as “a beautiful riot—visceral, bold, and unapologetic,” noting the band’s return to drama was inspired by the fearless vision of the KinnPorsche team. Additional artists curated by music director Jay Monton, Ake from Season Five, and Tero Entertainment will contribute to a rich, textured soundscape across the series.
Shine also represents a significant cultural initiative for Thailand. Supported by the Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Culture, and the Thailand Creative Content Agency (THACCA), the series is part of a broader soft power campaign to promote Thai storytelling and LGBTQ+ content internationally. In July, the cast will travel to the United States under the Thai SELECT campaign, participating in live events and media appearances to showcase Thailand’s creative talent and cultural exports.
The series will premiere on August 2, 2025, airing every Saturday on Channel 7HD and streaming uncensored worldwide via WeTV and WeTV.vip. With its ambitious storytelling, stellar cast, and powerful musical identity, Shine is poised to become one of the region’s most talked-about drama series and a new milestone for BL content on the global stage.
