For the first time in Philippine performing arts history, three of the country’s premier cultural institutions, Ballet Philippines, Repertory Philippines, and the Manila Symphony Orchestra, join forces to present a landmark production: Peter and the Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood. Running from August 1 to 3 at The Theatre at Solaire, this one-of-a-kind collaboration blends music, theater, and dance in a world-class double bill that promises to captivate audiences of all ages.
In a special initiative to foster appreciation for the performing arts among the youth, students are entitled to a 50 percent discount for the Sunday, August 3 performance at 7:00 PM. This performance offers a rare opportunity for students to witness some of the country’s finest artists in a live setting, in a show designed to entertain, educate, and inspire.

This groundbreaking collaboration brings together three artistic powerhouses. Ballet Philippines is known for its mastery of classical and contemporary dance. Repertory Philippines has long been recognized for its theatrical excellence and commitment to nurturing world-class talent. The Manila Symphony Orchestra, one of the oldest orchestras in Asia, continues to deliver powerful musical experiences through its rich symphonic tradition. Together, these institutions present two beloved tales brought to life through storytelling, choreography, and live orchestral music.
Peter and the Wolf, composed by Sergei Prokofiev, is a symphonic fairy tale where each character is represented by a different instrument. The bird is played by a flute, the duck by an oboe, the cat by a clarinet, the grandfather by a bassoon, the wolf by French horns, and Peter by the strings. This clever use of instrumentation enhances the narrative while introducing young listeners to the unique voices of the orchestra.

Little Red Riding Hood offers a vibrant reimagining of the classic tale by Charles Perrault, set to the music of Camille Saint-Saëns and Edvard Grieg. This playful ballet follows the adventures of a brave young girl and highlights the themes of courage and kindness through expressive movement and theatrical storytelling.

With only five performances scheduled on August 1 at 8:00 PM, and August 2 and 3 at 2:00 PM and 7:00 PM, this production is a highlight of the cultural calendar. It is an experience that celebrates artistic collaboration and showcases the enduring magic of live performance.
Do not miss this rare and enriching celebration of music, dance, and theater. Whether you are a devoted fan of the arts or a student attending your first live show, Peter and the Wolf and Little Red Riding Hood offers a captivating journey into the world of storytelling on stage.
