Liam Neeson brings justice and chaos to the big screen in the upcoming comedy film The Naked Gun, arriving exclusively in cinemas on August 13. Paramount Pictures has released the official trailer and poster, giving audiences their first look at Neeson in the role of Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the original franchise’s iconic lead character.
Produced by Seth MacFarlane, known for Ted and Family Guy, and directed by Akiva Schaffer of Saturday Night Live and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping, The Naked Gun revives the beloved slapstick franchise for a new generation. In this reimagined version, Lt. Frank Drebin Jr. attempts to follow in his father’s footsteps, taking charge of the Police Squad and trying to save the world in the most hilariously misguided ways.
The film features a star-studded cast that includes Pamela Anderson, Paul Walter Hauser, CCH Pounder, Kevin Durand, Cody Rhodes, Liza Koshy, Eddie Yu, and Danny Huston. With Neeson’s signature deadpan delivery and physical comedy, the film promises a laugh-out-loud experience that honors the original while delivering something fresh.
The Naked Gun is presented by Paramount Pictures in association with Domain Entertainment and produced by Fuzzy Door. The film was written by Dan Gregor, Doug Mand, and Akiva Schaffer. It is produced by Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins, and executive produced by Daniel M. Stillman, Akiva Schaffer, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro, and Andrew Lary.
Catch The Naked Gun in Philippine cinemas starting August 13.
