In the midst of their electrifying BINIverse World Tour, the Philippines’ top girl group BINI has released a special tour single, “Shagidi,” a vibrant, high-energy dance track inspired by the traditional Filipino game Shagidi Shapopo.
Blending global pop sounds with a nostalgic slice of Filipino childhood, “Shagidi” celebrates cultural roots with a playful twist. The single’s cover art was personally designed by BINI’s own Maloi, adding a heartfelt, creative touch to the release.
The track was born during an ABS-CBN Music camp in Davao last year, where local talents and international producers came together for a collaborative creative experience. Kapamilya artists Angela Ken, Angia Laurel, and Maymay Entrata introduced the game Shagidi Shapopo to the group, which led to a spontaneous and fun-filled moment captured on video. That moment sparked inspiration for the songwriting session the next day, resulting in “Shagidi.” The track was co-written by Marqueze Parker, Tommy Brown, Courtlin Jabrae, JBach, and Angela Ken.
“Shagidi” follows BINI’s recent comeback single “Blink Twice” from their BINIverse EP, as well as the performance video for “Zero Pressure,” which dropped last month.
Fans can also catch more of BINI in action through their first variety show BINIversus, now streaming on their official YouTube channel. The group continues to wow audiences as they make their way across cities in the United States for the North American leg of their tour.
Get ready to move. “Shagidi” is now available on all major streaming platforms.
