From the filmmaker behind the 2022 hit Barbarian comes a new horror-thriller set to disturb and intrigue audiences worldwide. Zach Cregger’s Weapons has just dropped its official full trailer, offering a chilling first look at the mystery that lies at the heart of his latest cinematic offering.
Weapons centers on a terrifying and unexplained event: all but one child from the same class vanish without a trace, all at exactly the same time on the same night. As panic ripples through the town, a community is left to confront the unknown and search for answers, raising questions about who or what could be responsible for such a coordinated and eerie disappearance.
The film boasts a powerhouse ensemble cast led by Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, Alden Ehrenreich, Austin Abrams, Cary Christopher, Benedict Wong, and Amy Madigan.
Cregger not only directs the film but also penned the screenplay. He produces alongside Roy Lee, Miri Yoon, J.D. Lifshitz, and Raphael Margules, with Michelle Morrissey and Josh Brolin serving as executive producers.
Behind the camera, Weapons brings together a seasoned creative team including director of photography Larkin Seiple, production designer Tom Hammock, editor Joe Murphy, and costume designer Trish Sommerville. The score is composed by Ryan Holladay, Hays Holladay, and Cregger himself.
A New Line Cinema presentation, Weapons is a collaboration between Subconscious, Vertigo Entertainment, and BoulderLight Pictures. Warner Bros. Pictures will distribute the film, with international release starting August 6, 2025, and its U.S. debut in theaters and IMAX on August 8, 2025.
