GMA Network brings back Andrea Torres to the afternoon block with its latest drama series Akusada, joined by Benjamin Alves and Lianne Valentin. Directed by award-winning filmmaker Dominic Zapata, the series promises an intense, emotionally driven story of love, betrayal, and the fight for justice.
Andrea Torres leads the cast as Carolina, a tahong (mussel) vendor whose quiet life is shattered when she is wrongfully accused of a crime. To bring authenticity to her role, Andrea mentioned in her interview on 24 Oras that she immersed herself in the world of real-life vendors, gaining firsthand experience and insight. Her portrayal highlights a woman’s strength and determination to clear her name and protect her loved ones.
Benjamin Alves plays a man torn between duty and heart, while Lianne Valentin takes on the role of a fierce and outspoken antagonist whose actions fuel much of the series’ tension. Their characters’ intertwined fates bring complexity and conflict to the narrative. Rounding out the ensemble are Marco Masa, Ashley Sarmiento, Ronnie Liang, and Jennifer Maravilla.
Akusada explores the power of truth and resilience in the face of false judgment. The series is poised to make a powerful impact on GMA Network’s Afternoon Prime block that will air very soon.
