Fresh from the sold-out success of his two-day Maki-Concert at New Frontier Theater on November 29 and 30, Maki unveils his latest single, “Bughaw.”
“This song is meant to be an anthem for barkadas,” shared the Tarsier Records artist. “Sabay natin habulin ang dulo ng bughaw.”
Maki elaborated on the theme of transforming sadness into something uplifting: “The sadness na naghihintay sa atin, let’s turn it into blue—like the blue sea or blue sky. Kahit tumanda tayo at magkakalayo, look at the sky, it’s just the same. Kung iiyak ka, iiyak din ako.”
“Bughaw” continues Maki’s streak of color-themed releases, following the hits “Dilaw” and “Namumula.” Fans were treated to the first live performance of the song during his Maki-Concert, solidifying its connection to his growing community of supporters.
The breakthrough Kapamilya artist is set to take his Maki-Concert on the road next year, with stops at Waterfront Hotel and Casino Cebu on January 11, the University of Baguio on January 24, and a special performance in CDO. Tickets for the Cebu leg are already available via smtickets.com.
