After the announcement of Metro Manila Film Festival 2017 committee that Ang Panday is part of the first four movies included in the competition this year, Coco Martin immediately gathered his team including the actors who will be joining the iconic Ang Panday. Joining Coco are most of his co-actors in the top-rating FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano including Onyok Pineda, Awra Briguela, Agot Isidro, Paquito Sagarino, Ligaya Ngujo, John Prats, Jaime Fabregas, Albert Martinez, and Eddie Garcia. Also joining from FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano are Elisse Joson and McCoy de Leon also known as McLisse love team.
This will be the first movie of McLisse together and they are very thankful to Coco for including them in the cast. In FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano Elisse played as the younger sister of John who was dragged in the case of illegal substance and later was abducted together with McCoy who was Yassi Pressman’s younger brother. Yassi played Alyanna in the series, Coco’s leading lady.
Meanwhile, also joining the Ang Panday movie are Ms. Gloria Romero, Junee Gamboa, Enzo “Bingo” Pelojero, Nayomi “Heart” Ramos and Jake Cuenca.
Ang Panday is a Philippine comics character that was created by writer Carlo J. Caparas and artist Steve Gan. It was adapted in the big screen whereas the late action movie icon Fernando Poe Jr. played Flavio . Ang Panday will be Coco’s second FPJ character remake after Ang Probinsyano where he plays Cardo.
Ang Panday will be showing on December 25 together with the rest of the movies included in MMFF 2017.
