Catch the finale week of UP Playwright Theatre’s Distrito De Molo

If you still want to see the 3-act play of UP Playwright Theatre entitled Distrito De Molo, this is you chance. You can still watch them from October 26 to 30 at the Wilfrido Ma. Guerrero Theater 2/F Palma Hall, UP Diliman, Quezon City. The 3-act play will be available in English that is on Oct 26, 28, 29 (10am) and 30 (10am). For those who want to see it on Filipino it will be on Oct 27, 29 (3PM) and 30 (3PM). The play is directed by Mr. Tony Mabesa.

The play is divided into 3 acts namely Tres Hermanas de Molo, Atlas de Molo and Venus de Molo. Tres Hermanas de Molo stars Candy Pangilinan and Frances Makil-Ignacio and was set in the late 1950s the play revolves around the post-war lives of the wealthy unmarried Locsin sisters living in a mansion in Molo, Iloilo. All of them have dark secrets to keep. Meanwhile the Atlas de Molo that stars Neil Ryan Sese and it is set in contemporary times, Eric and Lorena Avanceña are young newlyweds that have recently moved into the crumbling Avanceña home in Molo. It is about how a statue tricks Eric to carry the earth on his shoulder.

Lastly, the Venus de Molo set in the 1930s, the play involves the eccentric Don Guillermo Arroyo, who is obsessed of reproducing his own “Venus de Milo.” He employs the local sculptor, Crispino Marañon, to craft a marble of “Venus de Molo” for him. Crispino, without any compensation of his work, is visited by the goddess Laonsena, who learns of Don Guillermo’s cruelty.
