After the sold out concerts of Darren Espanto in The Music Museum and in abroad, the Voice Kids finalist is set to a bigger venue for his first solo concert. Tagged as his Birthday Concert, Darren will be performing at the SM Mall of Asia Arena on May 29 with special guests including The Voice of the Philippines Season 1 Champion Mitoy Yonting and Season 2 Champion Jason Dy and runner up Alisah Bonaobra.
During his By Request online show via Spinnr, Darren shared that he will be performing songs from different genre to give his supporters a memorable night in his birthday concert. He also revealed that Bimby Aquino-Yap will be joining him in the concert. They became friends since he started guesting in Kris TV together with fellow The Voice Kids final 4 Lyca Gairanod, Juan Karlos Labajo and Darlene Vibares.
According to Darren, he asked Bimby and also his mother Kris Aquino if he can invite him in the concert and being one of Kris’ favorites singers and guests in Kris TV she said yes and will be giving her support to her. Darren shared that Bimby who knows how to dance will be joining him in some dance number in the concert. Darren said that he considered Bimby a young brother.
Meanwhile, Darren is hoping that his The Voice Kids Coach Sarah Geronimo can watch him in his first major concert. Darren said they he’s inviting her in his concert and he hopes that Sarah’s schedule will be free on the said day.
Now that ABS-CBN is starting on the taping of The Voice Kids Season 2, Darren remembers the time when he auditioned on the show especially on the blind audition. He shared that he was nervous that time, which according to him that the new batch will experience the same feeling when they go on stage. He said that they should believe in themselves that they could do it and enjoy their performance on the stage.
