Soon on Star Cinema, together with the Ten17 Productions is the retelling of Manny Pacquaio’s humble beginning before he became the famous 8-time division boxing world champion and the congressman of the Saranganni Province. The biographical movie follows the journey of Manny from being a young boy known as Emmanuel living in the mountains of Mindanao working hard in order to survive the next day.
We will see the journey together with his mother working in a factory after their father abandoned them. They never stop working hard for their family despite of so many problems including their safety due to several crossfire incidents between rebels and paramilitary troops. Until he discovered that he has talent in boxing, which takes him from one town to another enduring all the hunger, the bruises and the heartaches that lead him to became one of world’s greatest boxers known as the People’s Champ Manny Pacquaio.

Directed by Paul Soriano who also directed the award-winning film Thelma that stars Maja Salvador in 2011, the Kid Kulafu stars Buboy Villar, Alessandra De Rossi, Cesar Montano, Alex Medina, Jake Macapagal, Khalil Ramos, Jomari Angeles, and Kokoy DeSantos. Written by Froilan Medina, the biopic will be airing in all cinemas nationwide very soon.
