After all the rumors about Karla Estrada joining the blind audition of The Voice of the Philippines Season 2, it’s official and the episode was aired last November 8 in the first Saturday telecast of the hit musical reality show. She performed the song What’s Up that was made popular by the 90s band 4 Non Blondes. Here’s her performance:

The crowd were cheering but no one from the coaches Lea Salonga, Bamboo, Sarah Geronimo and Apl de Ap pressed the red button and turned their chairs for her. After Karla’s performance ended which means she didn’t make it to the next round because none of the coaches turn their chairs for her Bamboo and Sarah immediately recognize her.

Lea asked her name and when she mentioned it’s Karla Estrada she immediately get off her chair and hugs her and followed by Sarah. Lea said that her son (Daniel Padilla) was adorable. This was the first encounter of Lea with Karla. They never met eversince they entered showbiz. And also this was also connected during Lea’s statement last July 26 during The Voice Kids to praise Juan Karlos Labajo’s performance “Yung mga DJ na yan, wala. Their names are going to be erased once you get to that age because ang charm mo nagamit sa number na ito.” She was pertaining to Daniel whose nickname was DJ.

The Broadway Diva immediately posted an apology on her Twitter to Daniel and his supporters. And from the camp of Daniel they didn’t make a fuss on the said statement and he said that they respected Lea along with her mother.

Meanwhile, Karla explained that she auditioned for The Voice because she was joining singing contest since she was 9 and it was her dream to join the show. Lea said that she has the voice but they are looking for someone who has the quality that will really want to turn their chairs for the contestant. Sarah said that her dedication for music was very inspiring. Karla said that everyone is equal in terms of their dreams and she ended her part with a joke “kunwari nag-guest lang ako” (just consider me as guest of the show). Apl gave her a rose and called her the guest superstar.
