After the success of Lyca Gairanod being the first ever The Voice Kids Philippines champion few weeks ago, the Filipino viewers continue following her journey in reaching her dreams as Maalaala Mo Kaya showcased her life story during the August 16 episode. Lyca played her character in the story together with dramatic veteran actress Malou de Guzman who played the role of her mother. The Lyca episode in Maalaala Mo Kaya proved that the viewers followed her inspirational story and loved her touching their lives as MMK earned 38.4% on the ratings.
The said ratings was based from the National TV Ratings reported by Kantar Media whereas MMK has 3 times advantage over its rival show Magpakainlanman where it only got 12.8%. Aside from the ratings the show dominated Twitter’s trending topics list. The show’s official hashtag #MMKLyca became one of the worldwide trending topics, while the phrase “watching MMK” was on the list of nationwide trending topics as netizens took on the microblogging site to share their thoughts about the touching life story of Lyca.
Maalaala Mo Kaya airs on ABS-CBN every Saturday night after Wansapanataym.
