The grand showdown between the four talented young artists with extraordinary voices officially started early this evening at the Newport Performance Arts Theater of Resorts World Manila in the Grand Finals of The Voice Kids Philippines. Coming from the team of Lea Salonga is Darlene Vibares, from the Kamp Kawayan of Bamboo is Juan Karlos Labajo and the fortunate Sarah Geronimo with two team members Darren Espanto and Lyca Gairanod.
The July 26 live performance for the Grand Finals was different from the regular season whereas there will be three rounds. Earlier there were two rounds showcasing power ballad and upbeat to show the talent of the young artists’ versatility. In the power ballad round; Juan Karlos the Cebuano Charmer emotionally performed Yesterday of The Beatles and followed by the Girl on Fire Darlene singing the iconic Sharon Cuneta song Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas. Back to back performance from Team Sarah; Darren to Total Performer performed the inspirational song of Basil Valdez entitled Ngayon and followed by the Young Superstar Lyca singing the powerful song Nartio Ako of Regine Velasquez.
After the power ballad round, The Voice Kids gave the viewers a very short time to vote for their favorite young artists which per SIM can only vote once on that round and the online vote with 5 votes only and after the break the temporarily closed the voting lines to give way to the second round the Fast Songs.
In the Up Beat Round Juan Karlos performed Runaway Baby of Bruno Mars followed by Lyca with Carly Rae Jepsen’s hit song Call Me Maybe. Next was Darlene with a powerful performance of Charice’s Louder and closing the round is Darren with a Justin Beiber hit song Somebody to Love. Once again The Voice Kids briefly opened the votes during commercial break until the presentation of the Final 4 before the show ended for the 1st of the 2-day grand finals of the show.
On the continuation of The Voice Kids Grand Finals this Sunday (July 27), Lyca, Darren, Juan Karlos and Darlene will still have a showdown for the third time with special songs together with a surprise celebrity to join them. And on that day the voting lines will be open until the finally close it and announced who will be the first ever The Voice Kids Philippines Grand Champion. And aside from that will Sarah or Bamboo snatch the trophy of being the winning coach from Lea for this edition?
