After getting 2 silver medals at the 17th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA) last 2013, Goin Bulilit’s Chacha Cañete embarks on another competition together with 5 more young singers vying for championship in their respective categories at the 9th Europe Pop Contest that will be held in Berlin, Germany. This will be the very first time that an Asian county to join the said prestigious singing competition in Europe where as from the time it was established in 2005 by its founder Viktor Leis it only invites singer from European countries like Germany, Russia, Austria, England, Italy, Sweden, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Romania, Malta, Spain, Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Armenia, Belarus, and the Czech Republic. And later 2009 they star inviting younger performers Kazhakstan, Aizerbaijan and Israel.
This year they expanded their reach to Asia and Philippines will be the very first county to join the said competition thanks to Vega Entertainment Productions who made it possible. According to Charie Vega, managing director of Vega Entertainment Productions she’s very happy to be included in the said competition to showcase the Filipino talent for the European countries to see and appreciate.
The annual Euro Pop competition has three age group divisions; 10 to 13 years old, 14 to 17 years old, and 18 to 24 years old where they are required to go through two compulsory performances of a world hit song and an original composition. The Grand Prix winner will bring home 500 Euros and get to spend two days in Berlin to record the winning song. The recorded song will be presented in all top music internet portals and sold in major music stores in Europe.
Vega personally hand picked the contestants in the Philippines that include Chacha Canete for the 10-13 Years Old Division. Joining her are Gleenette Gaddi (14-17 Years Old Division), and Ana Katrina Ramsey and Gian Marla Gloria (18-24 Years Old Division). Right now they are still looking for 3 more contestants one each per category where they are having auditions and scouting up to date. And when they are finally completed they will be having series of mall shows to introduce our contestants for the Euro Pop before flying to Berlin for the competition.
