Last June 30, three contestants had their big jump closer to their dream as they were awarded as the winners of the Dreams Get Real: The Search for the Next OPM Star of McJim Classic Leather. The said competion happened at the Teatrino in Promenade in Greenhills San Juan as McJim wanted to look for new sets of local performers and empower them to promote OPM.

It was a triple tie and winners include the band Fifth Dynamics, vocal trio JBK and solo performer Neo Domingo. Winners received cash prizes and gift packs from McJim Classic Leather, a recording and management contract, and a grant to film and release the music videos of their winning singles.

For Domingo aside from being one of the grand winners he also won special awards including DJ’s Choice because of his song entry Pagbigyan Mo Na became the choice of the DJs in selected radio stations and became most requested by listeners. Meanwhile the JBK trio won the Critic’s Choice where APO Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes described their song entry Anong Meron Ka as catchy, easy to like and has a recall.

Lastly for the band Fifth Dynamics composed of John Peterson Leyva (rhythm guitar), Eljon Nono (lead guitar), Daryl Jay Santos (bass guitar) and Aldrin Condat (drums) shared that it was a dream come true for them especially that  before they just performed in bars but now they can hear their songs on the radio.

McJim advocates for the empowering on emerging local performers that will strengthen the OPM industry.
