Maynilad Water Services Inc. or simply Maynilad announced that on April 16-19 there will be several areas in Metro Manila that will experience water interruptions and suggested to start saving water on their clean containers that they can use throughout the day. In line with this Maynilad named the areas that will be affected by water interruptions categorized as 1-day, 2-days and 3-days.
Areas affected on the water interruption are Manila, Makati, Pasay, Malabon, Caloocan, Navotas, Cavite City, Noveleta, Bacoor, Kawit, Imus, Muntinlupa, Las Piñas, and Parañaque. Please see the list of exact barangays that will be deeply affected along with the time and days of interruption on the Maynilad website.
The said water interruption is part of the project of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) to address the flooding problem in Manila. With this they will construct an interceptor drainage box culvert along Blumentritt street. The said structure will cross Maynilad’s water pipe along Juan Luna Street and Hermosa Street that requires realignment of pipe prior to the implementation of the said DPWH project.
The said realignment will need 72 hours to expose, dewater, and energize the pipe because it is a 7-foot-tall primary line.
