Last Monday, February 24 Bandila reported a certain flesh-eating disease found in Pangasinan that affected two persons; one in Santa Barbara and the other one in Villasis. The said report created an instant impact to the viewers of the show were the hashtag #PrayForPangasinan trended on Twitter. Several articles were posted in the internet and other connected it to the prophecy of a certain Indian prophet named Sadhu Sundar Selvaraj. Bandila should have a part two of the said report last night which the cliffhanger last Monday was a connection in a prophecy unfortunately no reports connected to the topic was aired last night.

Meanwhile, at the Aquino & Abunda Tonight, the Department of Health (DOH) Regional Director for Region 1 Dr. Myrna Cabotaja clarified that residents of Pangasinan or those in the Philippines should not panic on the said report of the alleged flesh-eating disease. She denied the information about the said disease. She said that the 21 year old female patient in Santa Barbara has leprosy where her two other siblings have the same condition and were diagnosed last 2011. According to Cabotaja the two siblings of the patient were cured while she fails to complete the treatment because she cannot tolerate the side effects of the medication. The said medication that she needs to finish was a multi-drug or three kinds of medicines in just one blister pack and it is free in the health office of DOH.

The second patient who is in Villasis is 20 year old male who has extreme case of psoriasis which is a chronic skin disease of red patches and white scales. Cabotaja said that DOH is helping the two patients and affirms that the two cases are not the mysterious flesh-eating disease. Leprosy is a curable but can be transferred to other patient who has opened wound and has direct contact to the person who has it. While psoriasis, it is symptomatic yet curable and cannot be transferred to others.
