Coming from the smashing Php 21.2M earnings from its opening day, Bride For Rent now hits the Php 100 M in just 4 days. The blockbuster comedy film that stars the newly tagged RomCom Prince and Princess Xian Lim and Kim Chiu or popularly known as the love team KIMXI is the opening film of Star Cinema for 2014 as part of the 20 years offering. It is directed by Mae Czarina Cruz and it premiered last January 15 in all cinemas nationwide while international screening in selected territories to follow.
Bride for Rent follows the story of Rocco (Xian) who wanted to have his trust fund on his 25th birthday through her grandmother. But there was a condition that he needs to fulfill and that is to be married. Unfortunately, Rocco is a type of a man who doesn’t want any commitment and still enjoying his bachelor life but because he need the money he did an agreement to Rocky (Kim) who is very much need of money for her family to join his plan. Things when well until Rocco’s grandmother wanted them to married in the Church. With this new twist how will Rocco finally escape on the act he did started and how will Rocky help her?
The film will surely give a new twist in the big screen tandem of Kim and Xian after the success of their comedy film Bakit Hindi Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo. Bride for Rent will not only give that “kilig” feeling to the movie goers instead will tackle things including relationship, married life and even responsibility. The film also stars Pilita Corales, Empoy, Dennis Padilla, Matt Evans, Tirso Cruz III and Martin del Rosario and it is still showing in cinemas nationwide.
