Earlier today (December 4), Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago gave her privilege speech at the senate hall in front of her fellow lawmakers and televised in major TV networks. Her speech centers on the current corruption in the Philippines which later she starts talking about her fellow senator Juan Ponce Enrile who was just sitting in front of her. Santiago in her speech mentioned he is the bff (best friends forever) of the accused pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Napoles where as she accused Enrile to be part of the scam as dozens of whistle blowers had testified with their supporting documents.
Santiago emphasizes that the very hear of darkness is Senate leadership and even appeals to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to investigate Enrile in connection with deaths and disappearance during Martial Law. While during Santiago’s speech Enrile was playing on his tablet where it was shown that he is playing Bejeweled.
Miram immediately pointed out professionalism referring to Enrile playing on his tablet during the session. She even mentioned Enrile that he is the drama king of corrupt politics and the king of the smuggling empire and challenging everyone on why pay taxes if smugglers like him earn from it.
On the later part of Sen. Miriam Santiago’s she targets Enrile on his personal life by telling when he was a baby her mother dropped him on his head and that’s the reason why Enrile is acting like that. She also accused Enrile as a psychopathic hypersexualized serial womanizer where as his wife can no longer tolerate his chasing after other woman including domestic helpers and cook. And later before her speech ended she challenges Enrile for a debate which wanted to be televised regarding plunder charge against him at the UP Malcolm Theater rather than showering her with insults together with former Senator Ping Lacson and now newly appointed rehab czar of Malacanang in Typhoon Yolanda affected areas in Visayas.
