ABS-CBN announces the return of Dyesebel on television by 2014

After acquiring the three iconic characters of Mars Ravelo early this year that includes Captain Barbel, Darna and Dyesebel, ABS-CBN announces that on 2014 through the Dreamscape team they will be producing Dyesebel. This is the second Mars Ravelo’s iconic characters that were announced to be released on 2014 where as Darna will be on the big screen first under Star Cinema and Angel Locsin will be reprising the role since she did it when she was in GMA 7.

Just few minutes of the teasers released by most of the ABS-CBN adprom and social media team on their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account to tease the viewers and followers of the iconic character, the teaser where released on TV and simultaneously on the official YouTube account of ABS-CBN. Here’s the teaser:

Up to date, there’s no final cast yet on who will be the characters on the 2014 remake of Dyesebel along on who will be playing the title role but fans of Kapamilya stars are now hoping it will be their idols just like what happen in Darna.

Before ABS-CBN acquired the rights of Dyesebel it was done by Marian Rivera of GMA 7 for TV broadcast. Meanwhile, on film the first movie of Dyesebel was in 1953 staring Edna Luna, followed by Vilma Santos on 1973 for Si Dyesebel at ang Mahiwagang Kabibe, Alma Moreno on 1978 for Sisid, Dyesebel, Sisid, Alice Dixson in 1990 and Charlene Gonzales in 1996. Dyesebel was originally a graphic novel created by Filipino comic book illustrator, Mars Ravelo and drawn by Elpidio Torres for Pilipino Komiks from 1952 to 1953. It about a mermaid who fell in love with a human and will try anything in order to be with him even embracing the pain and sufferings in the human world.
