After surviving the blind auditions of The Voice of the Philippines, the aspiring contestants with their coaches were being mentored and paired for the next round which is The Battle. Coaches invited fellow musicians and icons to help them in selecting the songs and pairing of their teams. Guest co-mentors include Arnel Pineda for Apl.de.Ap, Joey Ayala for Bamboo, Gerard Salonga for Lea Salonga, and Gary Valenciano for Sarah Geronimo.
The first pair to have their showdown came from Team Apl namely Tristhan Perfecto versus the Lorenzana Duo (Grace and Guji) where they performed Stevie Wonder’s Signed Sealed Delivered. Lea enjoyed the performance of Tristhan but Sarah is for the Lorenzana Duo in terms of the showmanship which agreed by guest co-mentor Arnel but Apl decided Tristhan to move to the next level. Meanwhile, in Team Bamboo Lee Grane versus Dan Billano with the song of One of U2 where Lea likes Lee while guest co-mentor Joey likes Dan. But in the end Bamboo selected Lee to join him to the next round.
Next is under Team Sarah Morisette Amon versus Lecelle Trinidad singing Donna Summer’s No More Tears. Bamboo likes Morisette the same way Gary likes her performance but Lea likes Lecelle. Sarah decided to bring Morisette to bring to the next round. Lastly in Team Lea, Chien Berbana faces Mitoy Yonting with the song of Heart entitled Alone. Bamboo sided to Mitoy but Apl goes to Chien. In the end Lea decided to take Mitoy on the next round
