The music portal aims to showcase songs from the local and foreign singers and bands and can be downloaded via SMART powered mobile for as low as Php 15/track and Php 20/track for new songs.
This will be the first partnership to happen not only in the Philippines but also in the world where two big companies; a wireless provider like SMART that has more than 70 million subscribers will be partnering with MCA Music that has more than3 million tracks from both local and foreign artists. And with this service it will help strengthen music industry at the same time offer affordable rates for every track that is easy on the pocket whether you are a teenager, yuppies, or simply enjoys listening music through your mobile phone.
There will be two optimizes versions of SMART Music Portal; the mobile and the web version but only one URL which is www.smart.com.ph/music. With affordable rates it will encourages music lovers to patronize on buying original and legitimate songs and that is by buying it directly from the label company and through the SMART Music it eliminates the use of credit cards that mostly younger music lovers don’t have. They can only use their prepaid or postpaid plan to purchase the songs on the portal. For prepaid it will be like a usual downloading payment process which Php 15 will be deducted on their load for every successful download; meanwhile, for postpaid it will be charged on their bill.
Aside from offering wide range of tracks from MCA on the SMART Music Portal, the partnership between SMART and MCA Music guarantee that SMART will be there in every big concert that MCA Music artist has in the Philippines whether it is local or foreign act. Just like last year when SMART gave free tickets for the VIP and MOSH FIT of Lady Gaga, expect more invites from SMART which Rihanna will be next very soon.
Other big names that MCA Music included roster are Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Jennifer Lopez, U2, Black Eyed Peas, and Eminem for international performers and Ely Buendia and his bands Pupil and The Oktaves, Sitti, Nyoy Volante, Urbandub, Franco, and ChicoSci for local acts.
