After the announcement of Jessy Mendiola as the Maria Mercedes of the Philippines which includes a bolder and fiercer look that compliments on the role, ABS-CBN through its Instagram account (@abscbnonline) and the Business Unit Head of the show Director Ruel S. Bayani release the other two members of the show namely Jason Abalos and Jake Cuenca. In the photo which either from a scene or a pictorial it shows Jessy Mendiola in her red dress which is the trademark of the character Maria Mercedes together with the two actors Jake and Jason which will be his leading men for the teleserye.
Unlike from the other roles that Jessy did from Budoy, Sabel, and Precious Hearts Presents Paraiso, her look in the photo shows a bolder and fiercer side of her which make her a stronger woman inside and out. Jake will be playing the role of Jorge Luis which in the original Maria Meredes that was popular by Mexian Superstar Thalia in 1992 and it was released in the Philippines in 1997 will be the love interest in the story.
Meanwhile, Jason will be doing another role which I think also coming from the original story but ABS-CBN will make a bigger role to add up on the love story triangle of the Philippine remake of Maria Mercedes which usually done by the Kapamilya Network to add spice in the story flow. There’s no update yet on when it will be released in ABS-CBN but the production mentioned during the announcement of Jessy that they are already taping the show and getting ready in time that the management decided on its airing date.
