KFC Philippines raised Php 7.5 M to support WFP’s assistance efforts in Central Mindanao

In line with the 2012 World Hunger Relief project of Yum Brands in partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme,  KFC Philippines once again joined the said campaign now on its 4th year. The World Hunger Relief aims to raised funds that will support the efforts of World Food Programme Philippines in Central Mindanao that focuses on nutrition and food assitance to conflict affected and disaster prone areas including North Cotabato, Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur and Lanao del Norte. With this, KFC Philippines raised Php 7.5 M that will contribute in the emergency school feeding programme where it will able to provide 750,000 school meals to more than 100,000 students.  

The funds raised came from the Fully Loved Meal that cost Php 99 and Php 5 from it goes directly to the World Hunger Relief campaign, aside from that major contributor of funds also include coin banks that are located at the cashier where diners can drop their donations to t campaign.

The said fund raising project that will benefit the supplementary school feeding and disaster assistance from the Typhoon Pablo (Bohpa) from November 1, 2012  to January 17, 2013.   KFC Philippines joined the World Hunger Relief last 2009. Present at the turn over of check are KFC Philippines General Manager Liza Leah Calma-Juinio, UN World Food Programme Philippines Head for Food Security Dipayan Bhattacharyya and Department of Social Welfare and Development Head of Disaster Risk Reduction and Response Operations Director Restituto Macuto. KFC Philippines affirms that they wikl be continuing their support to WFP Philippines via the World Hunger Relief and aims to raise more.
