After the successful Maria La Del Barrioof Erich Gonzales in 2012, another iconic Thalia character is set to have its remake on ABS-CBN and this time it will be Jessy Mendiola who will be playing the role of Maria Mercedes. Coming from her successful portrayal in Sabel in 2010, Jackie in Budoy in 2011 and Yanie in the recently concluded Precious Hearts Romances Presents: Paraiso, Jessy will now take another challenge in her acting career and this time playing the role of Maria Mercedes Muñoz a poor girl abandoned by her ambitious mother and forced to raised her siblings through selling of flowers and lottery tickets on the street.
During the ABS-CBN Summer Station ID 2013: Kwento ng Summer Nation, Jessy already showed her new image and that is being Maria Mercedes. The main concept of the story is Maria will be marrying the father of Jorge Luis which will begin a war with her and his family especially after the death of Jorge Luis father that made her automatically the head of the family. But in the later part Maria will fell on love with Jorge Luis and with Malvina the aunt of Jorge Luis will do anything to get the family’s fortune from Maria whom she sees using his nephew will fulfill her evil plans.
