Lea Salonga confirms that she is the 3rd coach-judge of The Voice of the Philippines

After the announcement of Toni Gonzaga as the host of the much awaited The Voice of the Philippines and the back to back revelation of the first two coach-judges of the talent reality show that includes the Popstar Princess Sarah Geronimo and Rockstar Icon Bamboo, Broadway actress Lea Salonga announced in her twitter on the evening of February 19 that she will be the third (3rd) coach (and judge).

With this confirmation from Lea Salonga, it means she is the Voice that Conquer the World as mentioned in the teaser that was released by ABS-CBN early this week. Meanwhile monikers given to Sarah and Bamboo by the fans who will be supporting them as coach judges in The Voice of the Philippines are Voice of Pop and Voice of Rock respectively. At the early age, Lea together with her family became part of the Philippine music industry which his brother Gerard is leading the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra.

Lea appeared in local production of The King and I, Annie, and The Sound of Music at the early age. She was also awarded with the role of Kim for Miss Saigon where she won Tony Awards for it. Lea became the singing voice of so many Disney Princesses including Princess Jasmine, and Mulan. Her name became big in broadway after the Miss Saigon she played the role of Eponine and Fantine in Les Miserables,  Sandy in Grease, Sonia Walsk in They’re Playing Our Song, and as The Witch in Into The Woods. She also played the role of Grizabella in Cats and Veronica in God of Carnage for local production.  She’s also one of the Goodwill Ambassadors of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Will all her experience and credentials, Lea Salonga is truly rightful to be one of the coach-judges of ABS-CBN’s The Voice of the Philippines that will be airing soon on the Kapamilya Network.
