After I Am Legend, Hancock and Men in Black 3, Will Smith will be returning on the big screen together with his son Jaden Smith in Columbia Pictures’ sci-fi film entitled After Earth (originally 1000 A.E.). It was directed by M. Night Shyamalan and will be premiering in all cinemas on June 2013.
Will plays the role of General Cypher Raige and Jaden as Kitai Raige. With the setting of 1, 000 years after the cataclysmic events that forced the humanity to abandoned Earth, Cypher and his son Kitai had a crash landing in the planet. Stranded for several days already they must survive the planet that is no longer safe for humans becuase of its uncharted terrain, evolved animal species and the aliens that escaped during the crash. Being injured, Cypher must rely on his son who embark on a journey that will find ways to signal the people from Prime Nova, the new home for humanities in order to rescue them.
