From being Elle Woods in Atlantis Productions’ Legally Blonde: The Musical in 2010 to Charity Hope Valentine in 9 Works Theatrical’s Sweet Charity in 2011, singer, actress and product endorser Nikki Gil returns to theater with the musical They’re Playing Our Song. It is a musical from the book of Neil Simon, lyrics by Carole Bayer Sager, and music by Marvin Hamlisch and presented here in the Philippines by 9 Works.
They’re Playing Our Song in Manila will be running from February 8 to March 3, 2013 at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium RCBC Plaza Makati City. To be directed by the talented Robbie Guevara, Joining Nikki Gil is Lorenz Martinez, Anna Santamaria, Jill Pena, Peachy Atilano, Reb Atadero, James Stacey and Noel Rayos. The musical focuses on the two characters namely Sonia Walsk (Gil) and Vernon Gersch (Martinez). Vermon is a top pop music composer who plans to collaborate with other composers and it happened to be he met the offbeat Sonia. Despite of their differences it was music that leads them to each other’s heart.
