For the very first time Star Cinema will be distributing a foreign film which happens to be a possible last Jackie Chan’s film. The action-adventure film with a comic approach which is a Jackie Chan’s trademark is entitled Chinese Zodiac will be showing on January 30, 2013. Also written and directed by Jackie Chan, Chinese Zodiac is known to be the sequel of the 1991 film entitled Armour of God II: Operation Condor.

Jackie Chan reprises his role in Chinese Zodiac as the adventurer and treasure hunter named Asian Hawk. His goal is to retrieve all the 12 bronze animal-heads of the Chinese Zodiac which 6 of it where were looted and dispersed when Anglo-French armies sacked the Summer Palace in 1860. The 12 heads is part of the design of the fountain in the old Summer Palace outside Beijing.

His search for the remaining six bronze heads will bring him in different areas including the chateaux and vineyards of France and the hidden dangers of a jungle on a South Seas island to the terrors of a fight in free-fall above an active volcano. Aside from his tour in search for the missing heads he will encounter various enemies that they possess that items he needed. So expect the action kung-fu style of Jackie Chan and flying stunts that we always love to see in all his films.

Here’s the trailer of Chinese Zodiac:

Chinese Zodiac also stars Oliver Platt, Laura Weissbecker and Kwon Sang-woo and to be distributed by Star Cinema in the Philippines.
