Sisterakas grosses 40.7M on its first day

In line with the opening of Sisterakas and other seven (7) official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2012 last Christmas (December 25), the box office trio Kris Aquino, Ai Ai delas Alas and Vice Ganda have proven their influenced to millions of movie goers after getting more than 40.7 million on its first day. Sisterakas was followed by Si Enteng, Si Agimat at Si Ako with 38.5 M, then ranking followed by One More Try, Shake Rattle And Rol1 14, The Strangers, El Presidente, Sosy Problems and Thy Womb.

Kris Aquino immediately says thank you to all those who showed support and watched Sisterakas via here official twitter account @krisaquino214. Aquino congratulated her fellow artists in the film including Ai Ai delas Alas where she called her as the MMFF Queen, Vice Ganda which she called reigning box office champ and Wenn V Deramas as the undisputed #1 box office director.

She also mentioned in her tweet that according to the report from the booking that Sisterakas earned 19,730,379.65 from 48 theaters in Metro Manila and 21,008,943.60 from 86 provincial theaters making it to the gross total of 40,739,323.25 in just one day. According to her that they had set the record that is the highest single day earnings for any Philippine film in history.

Sisterakas is still showing in all cinemas nationwide and also stars Xyriel Manabat, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernado. It is co-produced by Star Cinema, Viva Films and the Sisterakas themselves; Kris, Ai Ai and Vice.
