Dulaang Kalay and Word of Mouth Theater Philippines brings a Susan Hills 1983’s novel entitled the Woman in Black and will be having their last performancd tonight October 20 in Teatrino located at the Promenade, Greenhills, San Juan City. Considered as one of the best horror stories adopted on theater, the presentation in Teatrino was directed by William Edwin Manzano and features Reb Atadero and Jeremy Domingo.
The Woman in Black offers a different kind of story from the usual musical, dramatic straight plays and fantasy. It expanded the whole theater or venue as their big set up for the story and letting everyone explore their imagination. As for the actors Reb and Jeremy did a great performance shifting to different characters and emotions as they narrate the story to make the Woman in Black more visual. It’s like having a presentation within the presentation that viewers will really enjoy the suspense in every scene.
The production design is very minimalist but it really contributes to the mystery that the story suggest. Despite of the fact that it is their last day performance of Teatrino, the production will be staging it soon on a by tour presentation in order to reach more audience who enjoys theater and new possible supporters.
