Vilma Santos celebrates 50 Years in Showbiz with Star Cinema’s The Healing

As the Star for All Seasons Vilma Santos celebrates her golden years (50 years) in the entertainment industry, ABS-CBN and Star Cinema pays tribute to her contribution to the industry with a one-of-a-kind film entitled “The Healing.” It will be shown on July 25 under the direction of multi-awarded director Chito Roño. Vilma will be joined by the ABS-CBN’s primetime princess Kim Chiu in this film.

The Healing is the first ever suspense horror film that Vilma will be doing in her showbiz career. Her last movie is with Star Cinema entitled In My Life where her co-stars were her son Luis Manzano and John Lloyd Cruz. The horror suspense movie will tackle on the Filipino tradition of going to faith healers for guidance and treatment of ailments have not yet been tackled in-depth in movies. In The Healing, the viewers will not be only scared or horrified with the story but also see how the faith healing became part of the lives, belief, culture and tradition of every Filipinos who believe in it.

As for Kim, it will be the first time that Vilma will be working with her. According to her she is very excited during their story conference until the shooting. She believes that Kim is a great actress and she can surely go far in showbiz
